In 1155, After the Gathering part 6 (The Resurrection 2), Reverend Nick Catania continues a series on The Kingdom of God. In this session we examine John chapter 3 when Jesus was telling Nicodemus about being "born again". Students know that the new birth is not available until later on on the day of Pentecost. So what is going on here? Jesus wasn't refering to something in the future that Nicodemus had no knowledge of and he wasn't refering to something that wasn't available yet. Many years would go by before this knowledge even came to Paul. The new birth was available experientially on the day of Pentecost, but the fullness of the knowledge came much later. God expects us to use common sense. The way the scripture fits is to understand the Kingdom of God and what it means to be "born FROM ABOVE".

Note: All scripture is from the King James Version unless otherwise noted. NIV indicates The New International Version, NKJV indicates the New King James Version, ASV means the American Standard Version, BBE means the Bible in Basic English, DBY means the Darby translation,  NAU means the American Standard Version, 1995 Edition, and NAB means the New American Bible translation.
