Past spiritual signatures (conscious or unconscious) that have not been broken by you are still valid contracts that the adversary will demand payment on. Past permission granted by you to the adversary invests him with certain rights and ties to your life and the lives of your children.
Perhaps they may be the cause of some long standing illness or problems we have not been able to beat. Don't make the mistake and think that just because Jesus came and accomplished all of what he did that we are now free from all past involvement of life when we got born again. At the time of the new birth, if everything went away and we started out fresh it would be great.
However, this is not what the scriptures teach.
All spiritual signatures, ties, rights, permission and contracts are still legally binding. Some take issue to this statement. Some question and ask, " Are you trying to tell me that a person who lived thousands of years ago and disobeyed your God affects my life and me today?" Many refuse to believe these truths.
The spiritual law here is that the past affects the present and the future.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Does anyone have a problem believing that what Jesus accomplished over 2000 years ago still affects mankind today and forever?!
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Does anyone have a problem believing the same about the devil? You see ignorance of spiritual matters does not exempt you from their consequences. "I didn't know," doesn't mean squat to the devil. That's the whole point he doesn't want you to know!
The devil isn't fair however he does know the laws of the universe and uses them against mankind. Do you begin to see now the truth of what the apostle Paul said in Corinthians when he said, "I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air."
You see, in many ways we are in a battle with an enemy that can see us but we cant see him.
For the most part the vast majority of Christianity is swinging at an enemy that they cant see. If they land a punch, usually its a sheer coincidence. In many ways this puts us at an unfair advantage with our enemy. However, the great equalizer Jesus has leveled the battlefield. The adversary is a legal expert, and if he has a right to be there, he will not leave. If you believe that the adversary has no legal rights over the believer, you have just cut off the possibility that he is the source of your problem.
Satan does have legal rights over the believer if he has received them by you or some one else with relational or delegated authority. God never over steps free will. What I am teaching you must be understood in light of free will. Adam gave the adversary rights by free will; so can you.
Exodus 20:3-5 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Not just any sin but this specific sin of idolatry passes consequences on to your children. It works both ways. The Bible teaches that an unborn child may inherit the consequences of the sins of his parents.
This is a field that is hidden to many Christians. If the Word is true here in Exodus 20, then we have learned a valuable lesson. It is possible that some of the things you wrestle with are there because of your bloodline. A generational curse may be passed down from several generations back. If this is the case, you could search a lifetime examining yourself and never see it. This is why when working with people we break any generational curses.
Many times when I minister to people, the demons speak out of their mouth revealing their right to be there. I can't remember how many times a demon has told me they have a right to be there because of that person's great grandmother or great, great grandfather. I have had them go back as far as six generations. When we break their power and authority in the name of Jesus they leave and the person is set free. I don't know why this is so hard for some people to believe. They seem to have no problem believing that the faithful stand of a father or mother will bless their children and grandchildren.
Psalm 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
Look it is all God's Word or it's not. We don't pick and choose what we feel comfortable with. So the adversary can have legal rights over the believer if he has received them but he needs permission from you or someone with relational or delegated authority.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Here we have God's descending order of authority. Note the order. At the top we have God then Christ then man then woman and together they are responsible for the children. Look at how many levels of protection God provides for our children. When we have Godly harmony in our homes, we provide the best protection available for our children. Mother and father have the God-given authority to believe for and protect their children.
They also can abuse this authority. When this is the case, instead of blessing they bring curses. If a parent is involved in witchcraft the children will pay. One of the most dangerous traps going today is WICCA! If our children get involved today in Wicca, years down the road, when their children are born, the adversary will have rights to them.
Chances will be that they will forget all about their friendly teenage exploits and their occasional coven meetings. However, just a few meetings or chants or harmless visits to anyone involved in the occult can give the adversary rights to their lives. One of the great lies and creeds of Wicca is "do what you will but harm no one." If they only knew the deception behind that statement. They not only harm themselves but they harm their unborn children. This is passed down because of the relational authority they hold to their children.
Now also there is the subject of delegated authority. If you as a parent have a baby sitter watch your kids, you give that sitter a certain amount of authority. This is what I call delegated authority. If that person is involved in Wicca or the occult in any way, you are putting your children in harm's way.
You have invested them with a certain amount of authority over your child's life. If the sitter chooses to involve your kids in her little "games" or spells, your child can become spiritually bound. I recently had to break a curse over a grown man that was put on him because of the vows he made to his college fraternity. However, the great equalizer, Jesus Christ has set us free. And all we need to do to break the power and authority of these past ties is call upon the name of our sweet lord Jesus. And in his name we can break any tie the devil may have over us. This gives a new meaning to "work out your own salvation."
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
God doesn't want us ignorant of Satan's devices. Unless we wake up and take an honest look at the scriptures there is no genuine deliverance available. All we will do is talk about the abundant life and never experience it. I know this material may be disturbing to some who are safe in their comfort zone of religion. I challenge you to get outside of your comfort zone into God's zone. If this means you need to shift some paradigms, then so be it. If we are going to please God, then we need to be meek to his instructions and act.ÿ
